LUDHIANA: Kamaljeet Kaur, an artist, organized her first exhibition ' 'Aneeq' ' an exploration of Gurbani calligraphy, in Gallery Artmosphere on Monday.
She has painted text from the Guru Granth Sahib on paper and canvas. She has also painted texts on lamps, among others.
Kamaljeet told TOI, ''I love words and the way these place themselves, close to each other.
Sometime compact, sometimes interlacing and sometimes loose ' creating beautiful images and ideas.''
''I realized my love for calligraphy when I was young. And then, I turned my hobby into a profession. Art connects heart, mind and hand. I have done something different for Ludhianvis and now, I am awaiting their response. The range of paintings starts from Rs 5,000 and goes up to Rs 30,000,'' she added.
About her work, she said, ''When I look at the paintings, I feel good. Guru Granth Sahib is both my inspiration as well as strength.''
AP Singh, a visitor, said, ''Uniformity stands out in these paintings. The flow of lines is perfect.''
